My concern with this election is certainly reflective in the 2008 election. Some might say we have raised one generation of individuals who don’t get it. I would say we have raised two generations who don’t.

What they don’t get is capitalism. They don’t get it takes individual effort to succeed. And they don’t get the government is not the answer. Too many in these two generations have been taught the government is the answer to our economy. They have also been taught the government is there to take care of the individual from birth to death. Those of us who are firm believers in capitalism and the individual, disagree.

The problem is our system. Our system is immoral. There is no morality in the government taking money literally by force and giving it out to those based on their needs.

Our country was not founded on and should not be modeled after “from those based on their abilities, to others based on their needs.” There is nothing moral or ethical in this model. And that my friends is the model these two generations have been taught and convinced works.

Social security is immoral. Welfare, medicare and medicaid are all immoral. And no where in our history were their riots by our population for any of these programs. These programs were thrust on our population by politicians who believed in the “from those based on their abilities, to others based on their needs.”

So, where does this put us in this election? I am not convinced even after 4 years of the Obama Regime’s failures these two generations understand we will lose this country if we re-elect him. These two generations are convinced the policies of this Regime are the way to go. And worse, they firmly believe this is the direction this country should take. They do not see the before mentioned governmental programs as immoral. In fact, the Left and Progressives look to themselves as the moral compass of this country. They believe they are the ones with the morals.

These two generations believe it and the Conservatives have basically acquiescence to this very position, the Left is the moral authority in this country. Both are wrong. Until the Right takes back the moral compass of this country. And until the Left realizes they are not, we are doomed to continue to head down the path of the “from those based on their abilities, to those based on their needs.”

McLintock, one of my favorite John Wayne movies of all times is on this morning. Have you ever noticed how the Duke walks with just authority. Head up, daring anyone to screw with him.

Why is it we now live in a society where real men are treated and looked upon as being bad? And this stupid ass war on women the libtards and progressives want to label us with. Good god. Like many of my own generation, we were raised to have nothing but respect for women. In fact, my dad would have kicked my ass if I failed to open the door for any woman. Oh, I forgot, when we do that we are being disrespectful now. Well I call bull shit.

I for one say it is about damn time we tell these libtards and progressives to go straight to hell.

Keep this in mind. “You have to be a man first before you can be a gentleman.” ~John Wayne

I posted the image above an hour or so ago on my Facebook page.

While this statement is so true, what has been hitting at my heart these last few minutes is how did we get to this point in our country’s history? Where did WE THE PEOPLE go so wrong we are saying such things? Where did we go so wrong WE THE PEOPLE allowed our government to get so big and powerful, this happened?

What we see today in Washington is not something that happened overnight. While our wonderful country is over 200 years old now. The dismantling of America and our Constitution started back with Woodrow Wilson. At least the biggest push started then and has continued to today with the Obama Regime.

Of course then we had FDR and his New Deal and the start of so many social programs. It was after this when we started to see the focus of her citizens shift from the belief that WE should take care of each other to letting and relying on the government to take care of those who need help. Before this, who took care of those in need? WE DID! We did not hand this DUTY to the government.

As time went by from the FDR years, sure we saw breaks in the build up to what we are getting today. But, we saw in the 60′s and with Johnson another huge push “forward” to what we have today. Johnson’s biggest accomplishment in office was our current welfare state. Under Johnson and the Progressives since, it has been the goal of these people to get as many of our citizens relying on the government as they can. And they have done a damn good job of it too. Recent figures have been provided showing that 100 million Americans are getting some form of government assistance. That is approximately 1/3 of our population. Let me repeat that so it sinks in. 1/3 of our population is on some form of government assistance.

Worse, we have been basically sitting by and allowing this to happen.

The simple fact is, there is a certain population that has made it a lifestyle and a way of life to be on government assistance. And I am not talking race but a mindset. This problem is generational. In my own small rural Kansas town, I see first hand 3, sometimes 4 generations of the same family living this way. Being on welfare is their career of choice. They sit on their asses taking advantage of those of us who work and have our hard earned money taken from us. We didn’t volunteer to help these people out. The government, with its strong arm powers, takes our money and hands it out to those who are able to work, but not willing.

Now, before you jump down my throat and call me a heartless son-of-a-bitch, let me stop you. I am not saying those who truly need our help should not get some form of support and help from our tax dollars. We have allowed the entitlement programs to come into existence. With that, those who are truly not able to work or take care of themselves do need taken care of. What we need to do as citizens is to push for and support programs that make sure those in need are truly in need. And they are the ones who get support. We need to support programs which make sure the unqualified do not get such support.

The problem is we have a government under the Progressives who want to ignore this and give our money to basically anyone who says they need it. The more they can get on government assistance the better for the Progressives. This population is their base and the more they get, the more power the Progressives have and can grab.

The other problem is we have also ignored what is going on and allowed it to fester into the boil we have today. Can we honestly look ourselves in the mirror and say we have kept a watchful eye on this run away government we now have? While some of us may have. The majority of our population has not. Too many simply go about their days, worrying only about what is happening right in front of them. Too many have been so caught up in keeping up with their friends and neighbors they have truly missed what the government has been doing to them little by little.

So what has awaken this sleeping giant?

Never before in the last 100 years have we seen a president and a Regime move so fast to “fundamentally change America” into what they want Her to be. Never before have we seen someone like the Obama Regime with the nerve to so openly do what they have been doing the last almost 4 years. When in our history have we seen a president bypass the legislative process and make laws to fit his agenda? We haven’t.

If we have any hope of bringing our country back from the jaws of death, we have to get this tyrannical Obama Regime out of the White House. We have to get the vote out. And we have to convince those who refuse to vote for Romney either by writing in someone else or not voting to vote. If they don’t, they are handing Obama a lifetime dictatorship. I truly fear if Obama wins, we will see our Constitution trashed and Obama will with the stroke of a pin, make himself King.

This election people is without a doubt the most important election since Lincoln. The future of our country and future generations rest in what happens this year. Whether we live under a tyrannical Regime who follows what that image above says or not is at risk.

I hope what we saw a few weeks ago with Chick-Fil-A is truly an indication of what we are going to see on November 6th. I pray this sleeping giant has woke up realizing it is up to WE THE PEOPLE to save our nation. That WE THE PEOPLE finally realize we have to get off our asses, get out the vote and do what is our duty, VOTE.

If you don’t for yourself, think about your children, your grandchildren and even your great grandchildren. Their future is in our hands people.

As long as the media keeps pandering to Obama and the Sheeple don’t educate themselves, Obama will be re-elected. Too many with hand out.

Only if, those who educate themselves and understand what is going on get out and vote, do we have a chance. Don’t let anyone tell you they don’t have time.

If you have to drive them to the polls yourself, do it. If you have to help them walk to your car, do it. No matter what it takes, we have to get people to the polls to vote.

Our future, the future of our children and the future of our grandchildren depend on what will be the most important presidential election in our history. We owe it to every single Veteran and active military to make sure we get the vote out.

Been thinking a lot lately about what we will do if we have to bug out and what we should use to do that. I am planning a series of posts on this.

However, today one thing that hit me is security and what we could do as to even things out at night. And it hit me, why not use a solar powered security light. You could easily use zip ties to secure this thing to a tree on a temporary basis.

Like the Concept SL-100 32-LED Solar-Powered Security Light with Motion Detector

What do you think? Is this something you have considered as a security solution for that bug out location? And when I say a bug out location, I am thinking something more temporary like a short term camp site. Rest assured that at my long term location there will be loads of security measures in place to protect my family.

I fear it is truly too late.

Both parties are so entrenched in this notion of power, I am afraid they won’t give it up. They can easily be compared to the party elites from the Soviet Union.

I grew up during the 60′s and 70′s. When in grade school we use to do duck and cover drills for the nuke attack we all feared was coming. At least at that time, we had a foreign country to be afraid of. I am now 51 years old and more afraid of my own government and what they are doing and look to want to do to us than I ever was of the Soviet Union.

It is not I who I fear the most for. I fear my grandchildren with the thought they may never know what it is like to grow up in a country where they are free and not subjected to the whims of a tyrannical government. A government hell bent on turning this wonderful country of ours into another failed communist regime.

I hope my fears are just that, fears. I pray to God everyday that I might be wrong and we truly will see things change for the better come November 6th.

But, I do not trust Obama and his puppet masters to not do something to remain in power. Win or lose the election, I find myself preparing to not be surprised what this man just might do. It is a horrible and helpless feeling I wish I did not have.

I was having this conversation today with a friend of mine on Facebook.

Here is what he had to say at one point:

Obama is the first president who in my opinion lacks a true love and appreciation for our country, its heritage, traditions and ideals. His narcissism encourages his dictatorial leadership style and he certainly doesn’t appreciate the separation of powers doctrine as he seeks to “rule” by bypassing Congress via executive orders, regulatory rules, administrative law, etc.

Both Democrats and Republicans in Congress have failed us miserably. I was greatly encouraged with the numbers of “conservatives” elected in 2010 and I only hope that 2012 sees the people vote out those Senators and Representatives who are not promoting legislation that upholds individual liberty, smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation, etc.

As for the federal courts, there are way too many judges who either don’t have a clue or just don’t care about true constitutional jurisprudence. But I never imagined being betrayed and double-crossed by Chief Justice Roberts. He sucker-punched us. Justice Kennedy was supposed to be the “wild card” as I and every other conservative realistically assumed that Roberts was a given for upholding the Constitution and rejecting Obamacare.

As stated, my problem is I don’t hold much hope for this election.

I watch the news when I can stomach it and I see all of these sheep blindly following Obama down this dark and scary rabbit hole. And once they get too far down this hole, it will be too late when the cobra spins around and bits them on the ass.

Some have asked me why I am so negative about this election. ”Don’t I have faith in the American people to do what’s right?” I would love to, but my answer to this question is quite easy. Look who we have in the White House now. Do you really think the American voter is any smarter now then they were in 2008?

My friends, I hope and pray I am wrong. However I fear it is too late. And this is why I am spending every spare moment and all of the spare money I can to prepare for the worse and just hope I am wrong.

Blow up some fireworks and do other traditional 4th of July “stuff”.

What too many of us forget is just what this holiday is and means. We forget to stop with our fireworks and backyard grills to remember just why even after over 200 years, we have the freedoms to blow up those fireworks and grill those burgers. We forget to stop and remember all of those men and women who gave everything so we could have the freedoms promised in the Declaration of Independence. We simply forget…

This 4th of July holiday, please stop and remember what this holiday is all about.

To me, the 4th if about this:

It is not just about this:

As Preppers we prep for natural disasters. We prep for economic disasters. We also prep for what we see our so called federal government doing. As Preppers we build our stockpile of food, water, fuel, firearms and ammo. We make sure we have all of those things we need to survive for a certain period of time.

We have our bug out bags and our get home bags. Our cars are stocked with items for any emergency we think we might meet. The Prepper with children makes sure they have the items needed for them based on their age. As Preppers, if we have elderly parents, we make sure we have the items needed for them.

The problem is, and you know I am right here. Your home is most likely the only house on your entire block which is truly prepared for what is coming.

If everyone would just prepare for 72 hours for what they need to survive what is coming. Better yet, if everyone would prepare for 30 days. In most cases, once you are out 30 days, things normally get back to normal. At least as normal as normal can get. And I know what you are thinking.

What if we have a major SHTF situation where things will not get back to normal in that magic 30 days? Well, that is for another series of posts to discuss. And if the crap really does hit the fan, those of us prepping are ready. Even ready to defend what is ours. And if we are lucky, we have that bug out location already and have it stocked for long term survival.

But, I digress…

Dealing with the non-prepper

Since the odds are high your home is going to be the only fully prepared household on the block, these non-preppers are going to be a danger to you and your household once they reach the desperate stage. What can you do to deal with non-preppers?

One approach might be to head off as much of this before anything even hits the fan. As a prepper, should you be discussing things with your immediate neighbors? Do you talk to them about prepping and suggest to them if they are not, to start prepping for what is coming? I for one believe this is something you should be very cautious about doing until you know where your neighbors are coming from. For me OPSEC is something I take very serious. If we discuss things with our immediate neighbors, how much should we disclose? This is something you have to decide after vetting your neighbor as to their feelings on being prepared.

Should we share as much knowledge as possible with them? Do we disclose to our immediate neighbors just what levels of prepping we do? Or do we only give them just enough information to peek their interest and maybe cause them to open their eyes to what is coming?

Instead of any of that. Do we as a prepper keep OPSEC at the top of our priorities so no one has any idea what we are doing? I for one do not believe there is one right answer to any of this. Before you can make any decision, you have to vet them to get an idea of their own feelings and ideals. Look at their political views. Easily ascertained from bumper stickers on their cars. Do they garden? Do they hunt? If they don’t hunt, are they still gun owners. The longer you have lived in the neighborhood and the longer your neighbors have been there, the easier it will be to get an idea where they are coming from.

What have I discussed with our neighbors?

I know they hunt. I know they own guns. I also know they garden and can. Their political views match mine. They butcher their own meat and they have a place in the country. While they may not be prepping to the level I am, they are preppers in their own right. This is good, but only one of my neighbors.

My family and I live in a fairly stable, middle class neighborhood in a rural Kansas community. I say fairly stable due to the fact we have now some elements in our nice older neighborhood that do concern me. At one end of our alley, we have some rentals where the residences move in and out way too often. Two doors down is a house where the traffic in and out of the house at all hours of the night does concern me. Those houses which are on my four corners are stable and longterm. Needless to say, my fellow prepping neighbor and I keep a very close eye on what is going on in our neighborhood. And we have discussed even backing each other up if something should happen too.

It is these “unstable” elements of our neighborhood which worry me the most as far as close by risks and possible dangers. We all know, if they hang around during and after a major SHTF situation, they are going to get desperate. A couple of them have even presented themselves as being trouble makers too. These are the types of neighbors we may have to deal with swiftly and decisively with. After all, I will stop at nothing to protect my family.

Do we offer them assistance or turn them away?

I struggle with this one a lot.

If we offer them assistance, we have to make sure we have prepared for such an event in assisting our un-prepared neighbors. This means we will need to stock up on extras. And our budgets may not allow for this. In addition, if we offer assistance, we are opening ourselves up to the un-prepared coming back time and time again for help. Since they are not prepared, they will have at the most 3 days worth of food and other supplies in their home. Once we help, they will be just like the welfare free-loaders and keep showing up with their hands open for our supplies. In other words, help them once and they will keep coming back until we run out or they bring the hoards with them and overrun us.

This is why I struggle so much with this one.

Turning them away might be easy at first. We may be able to accomplish this with a simple, “I don’t have anything.” However, pretty soon, they are going to realize you are doing OK considering. Your generator will attract them. Your outdoor cooking will attract them. They will wonder why you hang around your home and are not out wondering the community looking for food and other items. These non-preppers may come to realize you have “everything.”

Then what do you do?

Are you prepared to use force to protect what you have and your family? I have ammo and firearms. I have a privacy fence and other security measures in place. But, and you need to ask yourself this question too, will I have the ability to use whatever force might be required to fend off the hoards? This is where you need to also decide do I tough it out at my main bug in location. Or do I really need to find a way to have a bug out location? I plan to discuss bug out locations in more detail very soon.

So many questions and not enough answers

There are so many questions you have to ask yourself when it comes to dealing with the non-prepper. And only you can truly answer those questions and only you have the situation you live in. Weigh your options. Look at your overall security you have at your bug in location and your bug out location. You need to decide if you can truly fend off the looming hoards or not. Only you know deep down the answers to all of the questions we have asked in this post and the questions you have in your own mind.

Final Thoughts

This is not the last we will discuss this either. Of all of the dangers we face with what is coming, I truly believe this may be one of the hardest for us to look at and consider what and how we will react.

Leave your comments and lets keep the conversation going. More on this to come too.
